Even so, sales of new trucks increased by 17,4% in 2024, according to data from the National Federation of Automotive Vehicle Distributors (Fenabrave). However, sustainability is still given little consideration in fleet renewal. Research by the Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain (Ilos) on initiatives to reduce emissions in freight transport offered respondents 11 options. Actions using alternative fuels ranked eighth, and those related to electric vehicles ranked ninth.
Iveco has begun selling its eDaily line of electric utility vehicles in Brazil, currently imported from Europe. “As customer contacts evolve and demand increases, production of the model will be nationalized,” says Márcio Querichelli, president of Iveco for Latin America. “This is a solution for transport companies and independent drivers operating in urban centers, seeking more sustainable transportation, especially in a scenario of growing concern about environmental issues,” he states.
