Business training ILOS: virtual learning environment for companies

Maurício Lima, ILOS Training Manager, assesses why organizations seek new channels of knowledge.

Currently, more and more companies are looking for ways to quickly and assertively train their teams of employees in order to achieve superior results. The reasons are many: competitive environment, optimization of resources, employees who need to understand the company's processes more quickly due to the reduction of the company's learning curve, pressure for results and commitment to the level of service, which in the segment Logistics is undoubtedly one of the critical success variables for the business.

Maurício Lima, Training Manager at ILOS, gave an interview evaluating why companies such as Natura, Metrô Rio, Michelin, Sony, Bayer, among others, have found the online training of their teams a tool of high added value for organizational learning.

Why are companies looking for online training?

Today, the managers of each company record the various technical needs that their teams need to develop. When seeking business training in the online environment, they seek to train their teams in specific skills, both for professionals who need to acquire new knowledge and for those who need to level their knowledge in relation to the challenges proposed to the team as a whole. What the ILOS proposes is this: to develop a learning environment in which the Manager is able to follow the evolution of his team in the search for this new knowledge.

How was the virtual learning environment designed to communicate the evolution of the class?

In this training, the class goes through different learning modules. At the end of each of them, a test is applied, which everyone must take to find out if the knowledge learned was assimilated correctly. If the student has not progressed in the module yet, he can restart it, watching the video lessons and clarifying doubts with our tutors. At the end, the test is reapplied and also redesigned. In this way, the employee evolves when he actually assimilates the content of the module, advancing in the certification stages. For the employee, it is a guarantee of quality learning, and for the manager, it is a sign that the professional is able to apply his new knowledge in the company. He didn't just take a course, he got a top grade in that program.

How was the experience of the companies that sought the ILOS in this online business training?

The experience was quite positive. We have registered the demand of companies from several segments, such as cosmetics, retail, pharmaceutical industry, food industry, among others. Imagine, for example, that a company is undergoing an expansion process and needs to train its employees. Once the virtual learning environment has been developed for her, the organization can also add another professional who joined the company in the following month. It is an operational, productivity gain and employee engagement with the company's challenges.

Which segments have invested more in this training?

When we look at the Logistics and Supply Chain courses, for example, the content talks a lot about the challenge of different companies, such as those mentioned above. However, a segment that has drawn attention is that of logistics operators. They are geographically distributed across the country and have sought training as a way to qualify and certify their businesses.

What is the expectation of Online Business Training for 2015?

Increase the partner base and expand the offer of online business training courses, to speak with both the organizations' teams and leaders. We have two audiences in our classes: Logistics and Supply Chain professionals who need to level technical knowledge, and Managers who have a lot of practical experience in the Logistics area and have found in online classes a way to update themselves amid constant travel. We believe that online business training has been a great resource and can continue to help these companies grow.
