Despite the large scale, the government has an optimistic projection and expects to complete all works on the Brazilian side by 2027. "Many projects are ready and only need restoration, others are projects that were started but abandoned and only need to be completed," says Villaverde.
Maria Fernanda Hijjar, executive partner of the Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain (Ilos), notes that the initiative is highly complex and that the projects depend on partnerships with other countries to be completed to their final stages. "We have no direct influence on how these projects will be carried out in Bolivia, Colombia, and the other countries."
