In 2024, transportation costs in Brazil exceeded R$ 940 billion, an increase of almost 7% compared to the previous year, according to ILOS. This figure reflects the historical dependence on road transport and the differences in road quality between regions, factors that continue to put pressure on costs and deadlines. In warehouses, the scenario is no simpler: between 2022 and 2023, storage costs rose from 18% to 23%, driven by low demand predictability and a lack of integration between management systems.
At the same time, the logistics real estate market is tighter than ever. The vacancy rate for logistics warehouses fell to 7,2% in the second quarter of 2025, according to Colliers, the lowest level since 2016. This data indicates a booming sector, driven by the growth of e-commerce and the fragmentation of supply chains, but also exposes the need for rapid efficiency gains.
