A study by the consulting firm Robert Half points to an increase in the average salary for management positions in both sectors.
The analysis is part of the Guia Salarial 2016 study, prepared by recruitment consultancy Robert Half, with a branch in São Paulo.
The study points out that, among the most valued positions in the market, is the Logistics Manager. A professional in this role, last year, had a salary of BRL 8 to BRL 21 in small or medium-sized companies (with annual revenues of up to BRL 500 million) or BRL 10 to BRL 26,7 million thousand in large companies (annual revenues greater than R$ 500 million). This year, your monthly earnings should range from R$9 to R$21, up 3,4% in the first case, and from R$12,5 to R$26, 6,9% more, in the second category.
And there are those that try to compensate for the loss of the domestic consumer market, selling their products in international markets, mainly with the greater competitiveness of national goods, with the exchange rate issue”, explains Isis Borge Sangiovani, manager of the Engineering and Supply Chain division at Robert Half.
About the Logistics sector, Isis points out that it is increasingly professionalized and has evolved. Before an area linked only to operations, today it has become strategic.
“Both the professionals who work in the logistics management of companies and deal with the port, as well as those dedicated to the port activity itself, are on the rise. A good Logistics professional creates opportunities for improving processes, increasing customer attraction, as he performs an operation with less losses along the way, greater traceability and, possibly, reduced costs. Logistics is increasingly strategic to better serve a customer”, says the division manager.
In this area, vacancies can be occupied by production engineers, administrators or economists with specialization in Logistics. Chances increase when they have behavioral qualities, such as leadership and good communication, and certifications (especially APICS).
