Drone owner provoked Amazon, which does tests: 'Flirtey beats Amazon'. Flight was a partnership between the company and NASA and lasted 30 minutes.
The United States government authorized the first delivery made by drones in the country, which took place on Friday (17) to take medicines to a clinic in rural Virginia.

The company took advantage of the feat to tease Amazon, the online retail giant that began testing drone deliveries in December 2013. “Flirtey beats Amazon by promoting the first demonstration of drone deliveries in the US,” the company said. on Twitter this Monday (20).
The release of the flight made by the Federal Aviation Association of the United States (FAA, its acronym in English) represents an exception, since in February it prohibited drones from making remote deliveries.
Called “Kitty Hawk”, the delivery was a demonstration made through a partnership between Nasa and the company Flirtey. While the American Space Agency took care of taking the drugs to the local airport, the company took them to the clinic. NASA also celebrated the fact that the flight was the first FAA-authorized delivery on US soil.
The doctor's office is maintained by the group Doctors of Remote Areas, which sends professionals and students to remote communities. These facilities usually have few medicines, as they are far from pharmacies. The operation lasted about 30 minutes and took 24 packets of medication.
To ensure non-interference in the operation of civil aircraft, the drone took off in an isolated area of the airport, was constantly monitored by observers and monitored by the control tower.
"The reason this is important is because it proves that drones can safely operate alongside other aircraft," Matthew Seeney, Flirtey's chief executive, told Re/code. “I believe that now that we have shown that it can be done safely and reliably, others will too.”
