In 10 years, Brazil has lost almost a quarter of its truck drivers

According to logistics consultancy Ilos, the number of drivers with professional licenses (type C or E) fell from 5,6 million in 2015 to 4,4 million, a 22% decrease. The devaluation of the profession and the emergence of new income streams, such as becoming a ride-hailing driver, are cited as the main causes.
