According to the survey "Monitoring of Minimum Freight Rates," conducted by the Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain (ILOS), the number of infraction notices rose from 4 throughout 2024 to 37 by October of this year, an increase of 825%.
The National Policy on Minimum Freight Rates for Road Transport was established in 2018 through Law 13.703, which created the table of minimum freight rates. According to Mauricio Lima, managing partner of ILOS, the measure met the interests of independent drivers, who were asking for more adequate compensation for the services provided.
