For Maria Fernanda Hijjar, executive partner of ILOS (Institute of Logistics and Supply Chain), who was hired by Abol to study the sector, the risk of shortages exists, but there are several actions to prevent this scenario from happening.
“It cannot be said that [the shortage] will not happen, because there is a lot of instability. I understand that the world behaves in a way that tries to minimize the risk of not having diesel. If it happens, it's like a paralysis of transport and other sectors that use diesel. It's a risk we try to believe isn't that high. However, the minimization of this is not in the hands of the operators”, she says.
