Cargo transport in Brazil was the largest in history in 2021 and should set a new record in 2022. According to preliminary data from an unprecedented study by the consultancy Ilos – Instituto de Logística e Supply Chain, 1,94 trillion TKUs were handled – unit that combines tons with kilometers traveled – in 2021, an increase of 9,6% compared to the previous year. This transport represented a cost of BRL 1,09 trillion, 16% higher than in 2020. The survey takes into account the movement of goods to and from the country, adding all modes.
