One of the biggest manufacturers of sporting goods in the world, Nike it needs a logistics that is also a champion to distribute its equipment to the four corners of the globe. Especially in Europe, where Nike's logistics must be perfect to face its biggest rival, Adidas. In this race to find out who gets to the stores first, Nike's logistics star is its distribution center in Laakdal, in Flanders region in Belgium.

With almost 260 thousand m2, the Nike DC in Flanders is considered one of the largest in all of Europe and the largest by the sporting goods company in the world. More than 200 different types of products are stored in the automated warehouse, which distributes to almost 70 countries and serves more than 50 customers. Six wind turbines annually produce more than 120 million kilowatt-hours, providing all the energy for what is one of the first ecologically sustainable distribution centers in Europe.
However, it is its location that makes the Flanders DC one of the most important for Nike logistics in the world. The region is at the center of the largest consumer market in Europe and, in addition, it is one of the largest logistics hubs in Europe, being able to receive and send products by air, sea, rail and road to countries in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Since 2009, Nike's DC has its own rail terminal for its products.
