in my post from December 9, 2016, I presented the expectation of an increase in diesel prices at service stations for the end of the year, given that the increase had just been announced at refineries.
The final diesel price data for 2016 has already been published by the ANP. The analysis shows that the expected increase in posts has not yet materialized. However, Petrobras has just announced a new increase in diesel prices in refineries in January 2017, which puts pressure on an even greater increase in stations that resell this fuel.
I present here again the graph with the history of diesel prices at service stations, with data from surveys completed by the ANP.

It is interesting to note that the values vary between the different states of the country. The states where the price of diesel is more expensive are Amapá and Acre, places where demand is lower and where logistical access is more restricted. In these states, the average cost of diesel is R$3,3/liter. The difference between the states with the highest and lowest prices reaches 22%. The map and table below show average diesel prices by UF.

The ILOS will follow the rising trend in diesel prices at service stations, and we will bring the values to our readers in the coming months.
