A llamasoft is a technology company based in Michigan, in the United States, and has offices all over the world – Europe, China, Japan, Australia and Latin America – specifically in Bogotá, Mexico City, and São Paulo. The organization, which serves companies that are among the 100 largest in Brazil, was present at the Expo.Logistics 2014, trade fair XX International Supply Chain Forum. To talk about market performance and innovations in supply chain leaders, we spoke with Paulo Nazário, Sales & Business Development Director from the Brazil branch.
What is the importance of redesigning supply chain leaders for companies from different parts of the world?
We understand that we operate in supply chain environments that are constantly changing. Therefore, helping to redesign processes in the face of seasonal periods, exchange rate changes, market changes, changes in factory capacities, among other environmental and structural changes are part of the reality of our customers and also of our business.
Starting from this point, for companies of different sizes and operating in different markets, the redesign of the supply chain was previously done based on large consulting projects and had its assumptions quickly outdated. Today the process needs to be much more dynamic.
Supply Chain Design has positioned itself as a new business segment, because it is no longer just a the project to become a continuos process in organizations. Either because it helps companies to reassess their logistics chain, or because it helps to observe relationships between distribution centers/customers, or the capacity of factories, for example, and all of this is related to market volatility.
What is the differential of the operation that LLamasoft applies?
The main consultancies in supply chain leaders in the world are partners of Llamasoft. As we work with technology, the main point of the company is the training of the client's professionals, to teach how to carry out the project, capture the result, and later, make these companies have the autonomy to walk on their own, expanding the modeling capacity . This is mainly associated with strategic and tactical activities.
What has Llamasoft been doing as a supply chain innovator?
The company launched a center of excellence in Supply Chain Design. It is the combination of technology, processes and people. The company has more than 20 PhD professionals, developing solutions to anticipate and react to customer needs, doing modeling from network redesign, inventory optimization, transportation optimization, production planning, to strategic source, go to marketing and cost of serving.
For XX International Supply Chain Forum & Expo Logística 2014 we present SC Guru, a friendly and flexible tool, which serves industries and customers in all segments, as it brings together more than 1500 implementations, in addition to best practices from different industries to establish processes.
Can you quote a business case What happened when using the tool?
Atlas Transporte e Logística is one of our main customers in Brazil. We developed a case with this company that allowed us to show the full potential of the SC Guru tool for a network of 80 distribution centers, 1.800 vehicles and 2.000 customers, served in an extremely complex network. As a result, the project allowed Atlas to optimize its logistics network with a significant cost reduction, in addition to giving the company the ability to redesign and self-redesign, meeting both customer needs and market challenges, without losing sight of the high performance in your operation.
Did Expo.Logística 2014 meet your expectations regarding the generation of value and business?
The event was very important because it brings together executives in the supply chain area of the main companies in the country. Llamasoft had the opportunity to make contact with more than 50 executive decision-makers who showed a strong interest in the technology.
