The stretch that connects Porto Nacional to Anápolis (GO) never came into operation. Although it was never used, the tracks had to undergo maintenance.
Despite having been inaugurated more than seven months ago, the section of the North-South railroad linking Porto Nacional to Anápolis (GO), the last section inaugurated with 855 km of tracks, has never started operating.
Although the stretch has never been used, the tracks have already had to undergo maintenance and therefore replaced. In this way, the only part that works is the one that goes from Açailândia (MA) to Palmas, and the next section that goes from Anápolis is ready, but does not receive trains.
The railroad is one of the biggest projects in the country in the area of transport that began to be built in 1987 and cost more than R$ 10 billion.
