Online retail sales make cargo aviation take off

Air cargo transport in Brazil grew 5,3% in volume in the first quarter, compared to the first three months of 2023, and could break a new record this year with growing demand, driven by the advancement of e-commerce. The total of 349,4 thousand tons moved by planes from January to March, on domestic and international routes, was the highest recorded in this period since 2000, according to data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) compiled by the Ilos Institute.
